Barrie’s Restaurants Still Serving

Today is our 8th post to try and help our local restaurants. We keep on thinking we covered most but we have been contacted by some we have missed.  Barrie has so many we don’t know how lucky we are. When we want to come out of this crisis with as many still open as possible. Today’s featured restaurants are all offering something different depending on your taste. We apologizewe haven’t been able to cover them all so far.  As long as we are in this lockdown, we will continue to highlight as many as possible. We published a list of 50 restaurants on Saturday the 2nd of May, we will update it every Saturday.  So if we haven’t yet mentioned your restaurant let us know and we feature you?
Today we are highlighting another seven restaurants; please support if you can in these hard times.

British Arms

British Arms Is a restaurant/pub establishment serving Barrie since 2006 with premium quality service, food and drinks.  Opened back up recently to provide delivery and pick up food. A Pub offering progressive eclectic pub fare; taking great pride in offering you a selection of homemade recipes that are crafted in-house daily.  They serve pub fare from Lamb Shanks, Liver and Onion and of course Fish and Chips, being selfish as these are my favourites.  Open Monday to Saturday from 3.00 to 9.00 pm.  For more details see their website and their Facebook page

Bacio Trattoria

if you are looking for something different you need to try Bacio.  They are doing “Virtual Date Nights”.  Chef William from Bacio Trattoria and Trent from Wine Journeys will provide a 3-course meal kit for 2.  After purchasing your ticket, email/message us to select meat or vegetarian options.  On the night Chef Will will take you through some simple finishing touches on the dinner using Zoom. Then Trent will take over. He will give you his thoughts on the wines and the food pairings and answer your questions.  It’s like a dinner out while staying in! This is as close as we can get to our usual monthly tasting dinners at Bacio in the virtual world.  We think this is a very neat idea, so why not give it a try.  See their Facebook page for more details of their weekly packages. and their website
