See, that wasn’t so painful.
Summer ended and we got through the first week of back to school with a minimum of incident. And vodka.
And if you are in need of some out of the house activity to liven up Saturday and Sunday, you are in luck!
As per usual, the weekend is awash in fun in the city by the lake. Read on for more…
We’ve mentioned before how many terrific options there are in Barrie to get your yoga on. This weekend there’s a chance to do it on a hill!
Horseshoe Resort continues their summer yoga program at the top of the ski hill. Ride the chairlift to the top of the ski hill, take in the view and then enjoy a complimentary yoga class. All ages, levels and abilities welcome. Just be sure to meet the instructor at the bottom of the hill.
If something closer to sea level is more your speed, there’s also an introductory class to Yin yoga from Yoga By Kim on Sunday. And the best part…it’s followed by PIZZA. Pre registration is needed. Hit up this FB link to connect with them.
If you were to compile a list of things that students in 2019 excel at, creating videos on their phone and consuming adult beverages would be near the top. And tonight both skills could win them money!
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:
– Attend both Queens Nightclub & ALLEY to receive a fortune cookie upon entrance.
– Open your cookies to reveal your initiation tasks.
– Film yourself completing the tasks.
– DM the vids to the venue you filmed at (@queensbarrie or @alleydtbarrie)
THE FUNNIEST VIDEO WINS $500!!!
(In related news, I wish I was 21 again for this exact reason)
Speaking of students, another thing they excel at is not having money.
So the monthly two dollar sale from Dress To Success at Bayfield mall comes at just the right time. Find quality used clothing for less than the price of a coffee! They’re located upstairs at the end of the food court right next to the elevators.
BONUS EVENT! Hurricane Dorian Relief Donations
Unfortunately, it’s not going to be much of a weekend for the many thousands who are getting whacked by Hurricane Dorian. Particularly hard hit is the Bahamas, and the crew at Expedia Cruise Ships in Barrie are trying to help.
They are running a donation drive all weekend, and are personally driving the collected goods to Florida.
You can drop off what you can at 181 Livingstone St E., Unit #11.
Check out their FB page for more.
