Check Here For An Updated List of Things To Do In Barrie This Weekend

Besides the obligatory extra day off from work/school, the great thing about long weekends is that every time they roll around, they bring you one day closer to the NEXT weekend.

As such, Barrie is locked and loaded for another few days of fun in the (hopefully?) sun.

15th Annual Barrie Waterfront Festival

The kickoff to “festival season” happens on Friday when the midways and stages take over Centennial beach and the surrounding dunes.

Live music shows happen through the entire weekend, including several live tribute acts, with loads of buskers, vendors and activities for the smaller members of the family. But, let’s be real…you want to know if there are drink options, right? There is! Flying Monkey’s will be on hand and a beer tent will be open. And maybe do the midway rides BEFORE you hit the tent…just sayin’.

Fun Fact! We post a full calendar of concerts every week in Barrie. And we are ALWAYS on the lookout for local artist performances. If you are playing anywhere in town, fire the deets to [email protected] We’ll be sure to post your gig!

The Foxx Lounge presents a loaded ticket with local groups New City Revival, The Saydes, and Jupiter Hollow in the spotlight. They are on hand supporting some killer metal/punk/alternative groups from around the province, including POLARITY and Edward Sayers.

Elsewhere, Mavrick’s is jammed with country shows on Friday and Saturday, and then on Sunday it’s Paige’s Passion Music Fest. This all day music fest is in support of RVH and features a crap ton of fantastic local bands.

Vinlypalooza Record Show

Barrie’s annual Record Show returns on Sunday. Twice a year the show runs for one day only, with over 20 vendors from across the province selling their vinyl, CDs, Dvds, posters, books, magazines, and collectibles from concerts and bands.

Proceeds go to support the literacy council of Ontario, and you can be sure to find a gem or two among the milk crates. Happening at the Ferndale Banquet Hall.

If you are looking for something low key and supportive of local talent, check out the Youth Art Expo at the Creative Bean.

Happening on Friday night, the event features four local artists from different fields exhibiting their work. Proceeds from any sales go to support Habitat For Humanity.

2nd BONUS UNCOVERED EVENT! 80s Music Trivia Night @ Friday Harbour

If you are the type of person who would never confuse The Clash with The Cure (and tbh, I kinda don’t want to know you if you are) than this baby is for you.

Friday Harbour offers up a 80s themed Music Trivia night around the campfire on Friday night. It’s open to everyone and starts at 7pm…although as far as we know, big hair wigs are not provided.
