The Weekender – Mar. 4th
The first weekend of winter’s last gasp is upon us. And while you can be forgiven for wanting to hibernate until Spring finally shows up, there is plenty of enjoyment to be had in and around Barrie when Friday hits.
Scroll on for a trio of ideas to get your weekend going!
Unravelled @ The Five Points Theatre
The Simcoe Contemporary Dancers present a couple of performances at the Five Points on Saturday and Sunday.
Unravelled is a mixed program of contemporary dance works. The show features works from SCD’s repertoire and includes the premier of three new works by Casey-Lee Cooper, Jaqui Brown, and Rock Bottom Movement’s Alyssa Martin!
Shows run at 12:30 and 7pm each day. You can get tickets through the Five Points online box office.
With capacity limits lifting, sports can get back to packed houses. And Barrie wrestling welcomes the patrons with a almost sold out tilt on Saturday.
Front row is sold out, but there are still some seats left in general admission.
Hike By Torchlight @ Ski Snow Valley
Ski Snow Valley has one more trek through the winter darkness happening this Saturday. It’s a fun snowshoe hike in the evening, with over 100 torches lighting the way on a 2.6km self-guided tour.
Take in the evening sky around an open bonfire at the 1/2 way mark, and indulge in some hot chocolate and smores.
