The Weekender – June 30th

The Weekender – June 30th

The Weekender Is Powered by The The Queens Hometown Bar & Grill: The home of live music in Barrie and your destination for great food and great times!

Happening this weekend in the Barrie area…

Pets and Pilates @ Flying Monkey’s

Get some stretching in, while supporting a great cause on Saturday, in front of Flying Monkey’s.

Starting at 9:00am, this outdoor Pilates movement class will be led by Kelly Patterson McGrath, a certified Pilates teacher.

Bring a mat, a dog and donation to the Barrie humane society.

Fireworks

Canada Day celebrations take over Meridian Place, beginning on Friday. Family activities include airbrush tattoos and a Canadian wildlife display, as well as busker performances.

Furthermore, there will be plenty of live entertainment on the stage, before the fireworks display across Kempenfelt Bay.

Midway in Orillia

If you are heading north, there’s plenty of Canada Day fun in Orillia as well.

Beginning Thursday, there will be rides, games, live music and loads of other entertainment right through the weekend.

Moreover, there will be a beer tent and food trucks on site, should the need for a pint and a snack arise.

Trivia And Tunes @ The Queens

Of course, if you are too impatient for Friday to arrive, you can kick off the weekend early at the Queens tonight and try your hand at trivia.

Beginning at 7, it’s a chance to show off your useless knowledge skills, and earn eternal (or at least nightly) bragging rights as a quiz master.

Likewise, there is plenty of live music through the weekend at the Q.

Further, if you just don’t want the night to end, step over to the club side after 10pm, with DJs on the decks and more drink specials to be had.
