Gearing Up For Summer

The Weekender – June 2nd

The Weekender Is Powered by The The Queens Hometown Bar & Grill: The home of live music in Barrie and your destination for great food and great times!

Happening this weekend in the Barrie area…

Wasaga Paintball

The Wasaga Adventure Adventure Park is celebrating their 30th anniversary this weekend, and everyone is invited.

Helicopter rides, paintball, (with new fields added) and birthday cake will be on offer on Saturday.

In addition, you can forget about dinner plans, because food trucks and snack stalls will be on hand to fuel your fun.

Tall Pines Music Fest

Summer means live music, and a killer lineup of artists will be in the region when the weekend hits.

The first ever Tall Pines Music Fest takes place on Saturday, at the Muskoka wharf.

Moreover, the roster includes Big Wreck, Sloan, Bedouin Soundclash, K-os and headliners The Beaches.

Open Air Dunlop

The first Open Air Dunlop transforms downtown on Saturday. Barrie’s main street will be closed to vehicles, as pedestrians are invited to stroll the many cafes, pubs and locally owned shops.

Besides being a great excuse to hit a patio, it’s a perfect time to head downtown and sample a few craft beers.

Trivia And Tunes @ The Queens

Of course, if you are too impatient for Friday to arrive, you can kick off the weekend early at the Queens tonight and try your hand at trivia.

Beginning at 7, it’s a chance to show off your useless knowledge skills, and earn eternal (or at least nightly) bragging rights as a quiz master.

Likewise, there is plenty of live music through the weekend at the Q.

And if you just don’t want the night to end, step over to the club side after 10pm, with DJs on the decks and more drink specials to be had.
