The Weekender – June 17th
The Weekender Is Powered by The The Queens Hometown Bar & Grill: The home of live music in Barrie and your destination for great food and great times!
Happening this weekend in the Barrie area…
Simcoe County Theatre Festival
Friday through Sunday continues 11 days of new, original plays written, directed and performed by local artists. Each day features a different lineup of 45 minute, one act shows. The Festival is the first of its kind in the Simcoe County region with all performances at the Five Points Theatre.
In addition, non-perishable food donations are being accepted at each show for the Barrie Food Bank. Tickets are available at the door, but pre-buying is advised.
Think you can solve a murder case? Experience life as a Crime scene Investigator in a thrilling outdoor murder mystery event, coming to Barrie this.
Use forensic techniques, codebreaking, and good old-fashioned detective work to crack the case!
Moreover, it’s a family friendly event, so the kiddos can take part.
Summer Vibes Market
The Little Local Market takes over Lion’s Gate Banquet Center on Saturday from 10-2pm!
Featuring over 20 vendors, 25 swag bags, free Father’s Day photos, live music and a kids zone. In addition, expect a few special guests for the kids.
Trivia And Tunes @ The Queens
Of course, if you are too impatient for Friday to arrive, you can kick off the weekend early at the Queens tonight and try your hand at trivia.
Beginning at 7, it’s a chance to show off your useless knowledge skills, and earn eternal (or at least nightly) bragging rights as a quiz master.
Likewise, there is plenty of live music through the weekend at the Q.
And if you just don’t want the night to end, step over to the club side after 10pm, with DJs on the decks and more drink specials to be had.
