Things to Do

The Weekender – July 29th

The Weekender – July 29th

The Weekender Is Powered by The The Queens Hometown Bar & Grill: The home of live music in Barrie and your destination for great food and great times!

Happening this weekend in the Barrie area…

Barrie’s annual artisan extravaganza is back.

The 4 day event features over 300 juried artisans and crafters, live music on two stages, a midway, over 15 different food vendors, and antiques.

At the same time, you can take in headliners Death From Above 1979 and the Sheepdogs on Friday and Saturday.

Moreover, it’s Kempenfest’s 50th anniversary, so you can expect plenty of celebratory fun.

Hit up Kempenfest’s website for more.

Romeo & Juliet

Collingwood is host to a live production of Romeo and Juliet this Saturday and Sunday.

The Shakespearan classic is being performed by the talented players of Theatre Georgian Bay at the shipyards Amphitheater.

Performances include a matinee and evening show on both days of the weekend, rain or shine. Tickets are pay what you can, and you can find out more on their website.

Footie fans can take in the Rovers match on Saturday.

Barrie’s pro team take on the Toronto Nitros at JC Massie field.

Kickoff is at 7pm!

Trivia And Tunes @ The Queens

Of course, if you are too impatient for Friday to arrive, you can kick off the weekend early at the Queens tonight and try your hand at trivia.

Beginning at 7, it’s a chance to show off your useless knowledge skills, and earn eternal (or at least nightly) bragging rights as a quiz master.

Likewise, there is plenty of live music through the weekend at the Q.

Further, if you just don’t want the night to end, step over to the club side after 10pm, with DJs on the decks and more drink specials to be had.
