The Weekender: Halloween Edition
The Weekender is brought to you in partnership with The Queens Hometown Bar & Grill: The home of live music in Barrie and your destination for great food and great times!
Halloweekend has descended. And in addition to the customary collection of costume themed fun, we have full capacity restaurants and even clubs to ring in the spookiest night of the year. Read on for a trifecta of happenings across Barrie during this most ghoulish of weekends!
Open Air Dunlop
Open Air returns for a special Halloween edition. Dunlop will be pedestrianized on Saturday as the downtown core opens their doors for a plethora of events, starting in the morning. Bring the kiddos, in costume, and check out the fun. Including:
-Rotary Club of Barrie’s Halloween Spirit Contest at Meridian Place
–October Tasting Trail
-Free caricature drawing
-Trick-or-treat stops at participating downtown businesses
Beer Is Love @ Redline Brewhouse
Looking for love in all the wrong places? (As in, Tinder?)
Redline Brewhouse wants to help you with your swipe/match game. On Saturday they are hosting a singles day. Each person will be in their own “pod”. You will not be able to see the person you’re on a speed date with. If you find a spark, you can chat with them again that night for a little longer!
There is still room for one female and a few guys, but you do have to register. Who knows? This could be the story you tell your grandkids about how you met…
Ski Swap @ Snow Valley
Look, nobody really wants to start thinking about the snow flying just yet. But winter is as inevitable as gas price hikes and the rising sun. So get the jump on upgrading your ski gear this weekend at Snow Valley.
On top of the equipment swap, you can get to the hills for a slew of free activities for the fam-jam. Hay wagon rides, a lift to the top of the hill on the Wideload, the mini-tube slide and hot bevys are all included in the weekend’s events.
