Live Music

We’ve got all the shows worth going to in our weekly music blog, and this weekend in particular is jammed with great gigs.

Sunday closes out the week with a banger, featuring In The Act Of Violence, with (among others) local killers Dead Beyond Fear and Halfway To Hell on hand for support. Doors at 7pm at the Dirty Q.

At the 400 Market, the Indie Distributor series welcomes Barrie’s Carl Rundown Band, as well as Franseca Panetta, A Weekned at Ramona’s and Rob Fitzgerald. You’re going to be out shopping anyway! (Unless your list is entirely gift cards this year.) So stop into the market and check out some great acoustic performances.

Donaleigh’s, Fionn Macool’s and North Country also have artists through the weekend.

Spice Holiday Market @ The MacLaren

Speaking of shopping, the MacLaren hosts their annual Spice Holiday Market on Friday and Saturday.

Ideal for finding a gift or two for the artistically inclined on your list, the market will be jammed with local vendors. The big man will be making an appearance as well, with loads of food and holiday decor on hand. Tickets are available through the MacLaren’s website.

Road Trip To Holiday Lights

Blue Mountain turns decidedly red and green this holiday. The entire Village will be decked out in garlands and bows, ideal for a family trip full of festive sights and sounds.

Aside from the festive décor, there will be fire pits to warm by, holiday music and carolers and horse drawn carriage with Santa every Saturday.

Further afield, you can check out Holiday Night of Lights in Vaughan. It’s an immersive, drive-thru experience featuring more than 1 million LED lights animated and synchronized to your favourite Holiday tunes.
