The Weekender – Apr. 29th
The Weekender Is Powered by The The Queens Hometown Bar & Grill: The home of live music in Barrie and your destination for great food and great times!
Happening this weekend in the Barrie area…
Barrie Arts and Crafts Show
Running Friday to Sunday, the annual vendor show for local and regional artisans celebrating Spring hits the Sadlon centre.
Moreover, you’ll find plenty of of ideas to freshen up the home as the warmer climes arrive. Admission is just $8/person.
Sparring At Bayfield Mall
Game of Thrones or history buffs might be intrigued by this one.
Dueling Weapons Academy is hosting an open sparring event at the Bayfield mall. They’re a Barrie based weapons training crew that offers training space for Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA).
A very cool and unique sport, the academy also provides monthly classes and participates in tournaments.
You can find them at the mall at noon on Saturday.
The Queens has a rare Sunday night gig on the stage, featuring a killer ticket of local and regional acts.
And if any Pink Floyd fans are in the house, get them to Georgian theatre on Saturday night to experience PIGS, one of the world’s best Pink Floyd tribute bands.
Trivia And Tunes @ The Queens
If you are too impatient for Friday to arrive, kick off the weekend early at the Queens tonight and try your hand at trivia.
Beginning at 7, it’s a chance to show off your useless knowledge skills, and earn eternal (or at least nightly) bragging rights as a quiz master.
As always, there is plenty of live music through the weekend at the Q.
And if you just don’t want the night to end, step over to the club side after 10pm. with DJs on the decks and more drink specials to be had.
