Sunset Drive In
Starting in our own backyard, Sunset Drive In is on the edge of town. Last season and earlier this year they offered multiple movie nights through the year, as well as hosting the Barrie Film Festival.
5 Drive In – Oakville
Tucked away in Oakville, The 5 Drive-in opened in 1964 as a single screen drive-in theater. A second screen was added sometime in the 1980’s and a third screen was later added in the early 2000’s.
The drive-in is now owned and operated by the Premier Theater chain which owns several other drive-in theaters in Canada.
The Stardust – Newmarket/East Gwillinbury
Halfway between Toronto and Barrie, the Stardust offers first run flicks, as well as classic movie nights. Perfect stopping off point on the way to or from the cottage to wrap up or start a weekend.
Ontario Place
In the heart of Toronto’s lakeshore, Ontario Place is one of the better city bound screen experiences. And with admission being only $10 per person, it’s an affordable way to spend an evening with those in your bubble while getting out of the house.
Last year, in addition to movies, the theatre showed Raptors playoff games, so assuming the Leafs actually win a series this year, fans might get the chance to watch them move on on the big screen.
Muskoka
Located at 1001 Theatre road on Hwy 11 in Gravenhurst, the Muskoka Drive in ideal for a night out whilst at the cottage.
