    Spring Date Ideas in Barrie

Now that we are on the verge of (finally) breaking free of winter’s grasp, we can turn our thoughts to heating things up…in every sense of the word.

Spring is the ideal time to plan a few romantic adventures with your +1.

In need of a few suggestions to get the love meter revving? Here are 7 spring date ideas to make the most of the season!

    Spring Date Ideas in Barrie

    Plan a Picnic

‘Tis the season to pull out a blanket, plan a soulful meal or takeout, and head to a quintessential spring location to enjoy a meal al fresco.

Hit up our list of picnic spots around town for locations!

    Hit a Farmer’s Market

We’re only a few weeks away from the Barrie market heading outside. And a visit to support local farmers and vendors is a great day out for a couple.

Grab ingredients for a meal to cook together, or pick up something ready made from the vendors.

    Make Sidewalk Chalk Art

Channel your inner street artist, (or lack thereof) and enjoy seeing pavement without snow again!

You can try to recreate famous paintings, draw each other, or just make an attempt at urban artistry.

    Hit The Zoo

The zoo will be crawling with kids who are out of school soon, and later in the season the weather will be sweltering.

Go on a zoo date while the animals are emerging, the temps are a bit cooler, and you can enjoy more walking space alone.

Elmvale Jungle Zoo opens it’s doors on May 21st. And there’s also Scales Nature Park in Oro, for those who are more reptile inclined.

Order In and Binge On A Show

Netflix (or whatever your stream of choice is) and chill with your bae, while enjoying some succulent takeout from a great local eatery.

Spring is an ideal time to binge a series, as most of the network dramas wrap up in May. Pick one that is finishing up and avoid the frustration of waiting an entire week for another installment.

If you’ve got a patio or deck, take advantage of the warmer evenings and take the meal and your viewing outside.

    Take a Road Trip

Fire up the GPS and select a cool location within driving distance of your front door. Plan for a full day out; get some lunch, take a stroll and fill up your Insta stories with pics from your adventure.

If you are a road trip junkie, you could make it a regular romantic excursion and even surprise your partner with a cool, off the beaten path destination.
