Although we pretty well wrote off summer after Labour day, TECHNICALLY it ends on Monday. Which means this weekend is the last official one of the warmest season.
And fortunately, there is a boat load of outdoorsy and indoorsy stuff to ensure summer 201 goes out with a bang, and not a whimper.
Happening in Barrie This Weekend…
CONCERTS AND COMEDY
Troubadour festival arrives at noon on Friday, and if you still haven’t heard about Troubadour then OMFG go listen to our podcast interview with the founder Chas Hay. This is two straight days of live music at awesome venues across Barrie featuring the likes of Cowboy Junkies, Bedouin Soundclash and Matt Andersen. And loads of local artists as well.
There’s also the Rising Star finals at Ferndale Banquet Hall. Local performers will sing their guts out for prize money and trips.
If you’re in need of a laugh to wind up the week, Laffy Taffy hits up Fionn MacCool’s on Sunday night. Ian Fergus hosts with headliner Rahil Shaik.
