3 Happenings in Barrie This Weekend
Don’t look now, but the summer is rapidly drawing to a close. With Labour day long only a week and a half away, and the traditional pre-fall rain sure to follow, it’s imperative that we all do our warm weather duty and get out and about while the longer days are still with us.
Read on for a trio of happenings around town (and the region) to jumpstart your weekend.
Although planning nuptials has been, at best, difficult in the age of Covid, weddings are still happening. And brides to be in need of a dress would be well advised to stop by Liberty North on Sunday for savings on a selection of down the aisle garments.
The 1 Day only pop up sale offers new wedding dresses and accessories (veils, belts, tiaras) for up to 90% off. Including over 600+ Designer Wedding Gowns. A can’t miss for the recently engaged.
Less than an hour away, and well worth the addition to your odometer, are the Scenic Caves in Collingwood.
Sitting in one of Canada’s eighteen UNESCO biosphere reserves and dating back 450 million years, you can explore the sightlines from the longest suspension bridge in southern Ontario. Or take a stroll along the 15 kilometers of trails.
There’s also plenty of hands on stuff to occupy the famjam, including mini golf, an adventure playground and gem mining.
Of course the real fun of the Scenic Caves… is the view.
Patios, Patios, Patios
If it’s sunny, it’s worth a trip to your local outdoor food and drink hub. Particularly since the aforementioned days of summer are vanishing faster than the Maple Leafs in the first round of the playoffs (still too soon?)
If congregating with a bevvy isn’t enough to entice you our, remember that live music is back at the likes of Malones, Flying Monkey’s, the Queen’s and Donaleighs. So get out there and make the most of the al fresco options around town. Before winter robs us of our warmth. And our souls.
