February. It’s the seasonal equivalent of that last party guest you just can’t get rid of at the end of the night.

Maybe they were entertaining and fun for a little while. But eventually you just want them GONE.

14 Things To Do in Barrie This February


Every Saturday and Sunday during the month of February, head downtown, venture along the Hot Cocoa Trail and indulge in signature cups of hot chocolate while sipping, shopping and supporting local.

With each purchase of a signature Hot Cocoa Trail beverage, fill out a ballot and enter to win one of three Hot Cocoa Trail Vouchers.


Pub Trivia

No less than three establishments offer a chance for you to channel your inner Ken Jennings.

Redline Brewhouse hosts a general quiz night, while Fioon MacCool’s brings out the Muggles for a  Harry Potter themed night, as well as a Friends night! Hit up Town Trivia’s website to find more Jeopardy-esque around town.



Jeff Dunham attacks (with jokes) the BMC on Feb. 21st. He’s one of the premier puppeteer comics on the planet, and it’s just one of many comedy and stand up nights in town this month. (Including a Valentine’s themed night at Zio’s)


Keep it Reel With The Barrie Film Festival

The annual documentary film festival returns to Barrie on Feb. 20th. This is a 3 day program featuring docs and dramas inspired by true events and real people. Now in year 16, Reel Stories will screen 10 films over four days at Uptown Theatre.

Nature In Winter @ Sunnidale Park

The City of Barrie presents Nature In Winter, a one-day free educational experience showcasing all the amazing natural beauty that the Winter in Barrie has to offer!

The day will feature nature-based Winter Play, nature crafts, a guided Owl Prowl and much more.

Scouts Canada, Wild Birds Unlimited and more will be on scene all day.


The Rainbow Fish @ Georgian Theatre

The Rainbow Fish will enchant even the youngest child with his silver scales and heart of gold in this award-winning book about the beautiful fish who learned to share his most prized possession.

Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia brings The Rainbow Fish to life with their enchanting puppetry.


Drop Kick Someone (Not Literally)

Check out the region’s up and coming Macho Men and Ultimate Warriors with wrestling at Mavrick’s. An Ode To No One happens on Friday February 7th for a 19+ audience.
