All The Good (And Occasional) Bad of What Went Down in Barrie Last Week
There are three certainties in life…
And if you are tweeting, posting and talking about Barrie on social media, we want to hear from you!
The Social Recap – The Week That Was July 12th
It was a scary scene in the south end of Barrie this past Thursday. A Tornado touched down and left a path of damage in it’s wake,
But Barrie being Barrie, meant that within minutes of the storm, the city and the community was rallying to support those who had been displaced. We’re devoting this week’s recap to the tremendous efforts of the volunteers, donators, businesses and charities who came to help their neighbours after such a terrifying ordeal.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
There has been an incredible outpouring of support and donations since Thursday, and as of now there is no need for more volunteers or food/water. The City asks residents to not bring donations to the tornado recovery site.
Monetary donations are being accepted by Barrie Families Unite and the Salvation Army. You can send E-tsfs to Barrie Families Unite at [email protected], or to the Salvation Army via their website. Please mark the donation ‘Barrie tornado’
