It was great to see the return of the Barrie Film Festival this weekend, despite Covid. A great lineup of films, including the short film showcase in which 3 local filmmakers won awards for their entries!

The Film festival was just one of a bunch of events during a busy week. Open Air Dunlop was back, and with loads of people! It runs right through to mid-October, so be sure to check out downtown’s cool new layout next Saturday!

It’s great to see our entire business community pulling together during these crazy times. Good on Oxygen South Barrie for making a contribution to the Special Olympics!

And speaking of community spirit, did you see the great folks taking part in this year’s Run For The Cure? Pink costumes never looked so good!

And finally, some big news from the Barrie Baycats this week, and their partnership with a couple of fantastic Barrie based sports facilities, The Kage and Athletickulture!
