Mamma Mia the Musical Hits the Stage This Thursday

Mamma Mia the Musical

The award-winning Barrie theatre company, Kempenfelt Community Players’(KCP) presents, Mamma Mia!

The show is live on stage from February 6th through the 16th, 2020 at the Georgian Theatre at Georgian College.

If you want to get back to the 70s and 80s and have a great night out get to Georgian Theatre and buy tickets for this very lively show.  We went to Georgian and met with some of the artists and crew. Our team was lucky enough to get to see and preview the show at the dress rehearsal. The local talent on stage really impressed us, there are some fabulous singers in the show.

We talked to one of the leads Victoria and her enthusiasm shines through on the video.  Take a look at the short video behind the scenes on the last few rehearsals.

The cast has had a grueling 4 months rehearsing to make the show flawless and very entertaining.  Auditions start back in July 2019, those who made into the show have been rehearsing for 4 months to get everything right.

It was not just the onstage artists it took a whole team, there were the stage crew, the set design/build and lighting.  Then there is the director, music director, producer and choreographer.  Their dedication to working 3 nights a week for 4 months has resulted in one hell of a show.  We highly recommend this show if you want a night of wonderful music and escapism, you will be tapping along and you will be tempted to get out into the aisles and dance the night away.

A big thank you to the  Kempenfelt Community Players for letting us preview the show.  We for one are really looking forward to seeing the show in all its splendor.

As ABBA sang:

Mamma mia, here I go again
My my, how can I resist you?
Mamma mia, does it show again
My my, just how much I’ve missed you?
