Spread The Cheer Before Year’s End

Spread The Cheer Before Year's End

CONNECT WITH LOCAL CHARITIES BEFORE 2021

The last week before Xmas is always a mad scramble. And it’s easy to get caught up in the last minute shopping craze! Before you do finish off your lists for 2020, take a moment to look at some of the local causes and charities that still need support. If you can, contribute! Even a small contribution can make a difference, especially this year.

Spread The Cheer Before Year’s End

SHANE’S FUNDRAISER

One of Barrie’s finest citizens, manager of the Unity Cafe and market, and fantastically talented musician Shane L.S. Dennis is spending the 7 nights leading up to Christmas to raise awareness of local charities and shelters. You can support Shane by making monetary contributions to one of the shelters or causes.

CHRISTMAS CHEER

This year Xmas Cheer has switched to strictly monetary donations, and their goal of $250,000 is still a bit out of reach. They are taking contributions until Xmas eve.

BARRIE FOOD BANK

Like many charities this year, the Food bank switched to a monetary contribution model for their holiday food drive. You can still provide food, but monetary donations are welcomed on their website.

YOUTH HAVEN

Boxes of Hope is a way to help the youth experiencing homelessness that YH supports. The $50 contribution Funds raised from each purchase will be used to buy items that our youth need including gift cards, gloves, winter hats, hygiene products, toiletries, bus tokens, and more!

DAVID BUSBY CENTER

If you missed the virtual concert fundraiser this past weekend, you can still support the shelter through their weekly Catch The Ace fundraiser.

WOMEN AND CHILDREN’S SHELTER

Besides monetary contributions, this year the shelter has gift items and gift packages you can purchase, with funds going to support the shelter’s work! Contact [email protected] for more information.
