We have absolutely been starved for sports this year, so it was a welcome sight to see the Wolfpack get back on the court for ballhockey this past week!

The Kraken went 1-1-1 after the round robin. Dropping the first game to the turtles. Winning our second game against the North Stars. The final game, against the Vikings, conceiving the tying goal with less than a minute left. The record is good enough to secure the 2nd vs 3rd place game in the semis. The Week That Was in Barrie Sep. 7th

That chill you feel in the air is the ominous first hint of Fall. Soon we’ll be clambering for snow tires and toques, so it’s all the more important to take advantage of the warm weather. Like golfing!

At this point, short of maybe robotic dinosaurs from another galaxy arriving to enslave us, there isn’t much 2020 can do to surprise us. So if someone were to come across a bubble wedding at Sunnidale park…it’s par for the course this year.

The Week That Was in Barrie Aug.31st

Summer is winding down, which is bittersweet. But even as the beaches and patios close down for another season, there is plenty to look forward to in the Fall, including everything Pumpkin!

It’s been a great month for all of the local restaurants and eateries around town as eat in and patio options are available for patrons. And it’s been even better in the joints that offer live music!

Speaking of the local music scene, congrats to our friend @meganannemusic on the release of her new single, Flavour of the Month! Find her stuff and loads of other Barrie artists on the Barrie set list!

Have you checked out the Local Goods market? They run every week with tons of wares and tons of great local vendors.

Next time you are on a walk, check out the cool street art around town. Whether it’s inspired graffiti or something flip like this!

The Week That Was in Barrie Aug. 24th

It’s been great to see the final touches go in along Dunlop street as the construction finishes up. And as @leboeufjewellers reminded us with this throwback, it’s been a long time since we actually had trees downtown!
