The weekend before March Break (and St. Patrick’s day) is understandably a little quiet on the happenings front.

All of us tend to stick close to home to prepare for the onslaught of Celtic themed fun and off school daze.

Regular readers of this space know that we produce a weekly blog on the gigs and concerts happening in Barrie. This week the usual haunts are cranking out shows, but there’s an extra special night in store as Flight 97 plays the Foxx to support their new single Cliff Diving.

It always makes for a killer night when bands come together to support new tunes, so you can expect an energetic experience.

Snowshoe Under Moonlight

There’s only a few weeks left to take in a 2km guided moonlight snowshoe through the forest at Horseshoe.

The resort offers these winter walks through March as long as weather permits, so this could be one of the last weekends. Afterwards, warm up by the fire while you roast marshmallows and sip on some hot chocolate.


See The Colts

With only 3 home games left in the regular season, this Saturday is the second last weekend game at the BMC. There’s always a ton of fun in game, with giveaways and draws. And it’s the perfect excuse to have pizza and hot dogs for dinner.

GALENTINE – Ladies Night

Ladies night at the AFFA studio happens on Friday night.

Ice Carving Competition

Friday Harbour rolls out the Family Day red carpet this weekend, with a plethora of famjam friendly activities.

Among the events is a professional ice carving competition, with teams chainsawing it out for $3000 in prizes.

There’s also a vendor market on the Boardwalk and live music performances by ‘Shipyard Kitchen Party and ‘Strange Potatoes on the Compass Stage. Stick around for the evening and close out Saturday with a fireworks show.

Blood Donation Clinic @ Georgian College

Donate Blood and help save lives 💕

Canadian Blood Services will be on campus holding a Blood Donation Clinic in the ABSC Event Space from 10am – 2pm.

Remember that if you donated recently there is a waiting period, and that there is a screening process.
