Yeah, it’s been a hard week. But one thing that doesn’t change in Barrie despite lockdowns and shutdowns is the terrific connection to nature we can experience without having to drive for hours.

Nothing warms the heart like community spirit, and it was on full display last week with donations to the Barrie food bank from local contractors and our friends at Skewers!

As we head into a difficult winter, it’s all the more important to stay connected with our local businesses. Particularly the ones that can’t open right now, like Yoga studios. Luckily, places like Namaste North has some online options to support them!

Two things that are difficult to master: Photography and skateboarding. Looks like theses two talented folks have it figured out!

The Week That Was in Barrie Nov. 30th

We’re all still gasping for the return of live music at big venues. But in the meantime, we can be thankful for live streams and social posting to keep us connected to the artists we love. This week one of Barrie’s fav solo acts and a good friend of ours, Megan Anne, launched a Xmas special live concert series.

Speaking of the holidays and music, it really is starting to look alot like Xmas…

Harry Potter fans on your list this year? Or even someone with a love for magic and a fondness for unique gifts? Freaky Wizard Toys might be the place to check out before the 25th!

Feels like we are missing something at this time of year with no local hockey. The good news is that the OHL does have plans to return in the new year. Until then, we have the great folks at @verybarriecolts podcast to keep us going with at least a partial puck fix.
