The Social Recap – July 18th

All The Good (And Occasional) Bad of What Went Down in Barrie Last Week

Death.

Taxes.

Social media.

And if you are tweeting, posting and talking about Barrie on social media, we want to hear from you!

The Social Recap – July 18th

Winner and still champion! Barrie’s own Mark Smither defended his title on Saturday at the East Bayfield Arena, in front of the hometown crowd, with a victory on points.

Speaking of Barrie sports, it was a big weekend for the Rovers as well. The lads delivered a victory at the Trent Severn Cup. Way to go!

If you can rise early enough, you can capture the morning stillness on the lake, and end up with stunning snaps like this…

Talk about wet n’ wild! Foam Fest hit Horseshoe Valley this weekend, with a chance to enjoy the longest water slide on Earth. Bet they’ll be washing foam out of their hair for the next few months.

The new branch of the Barrie Public Library is almost ready to open! This week they offered a sneak peak as the last of the shelves and structures went in.

And with that, we say goodnight to another summer weekend…
