Oh yeah…so Kempenfest happened. And it’s safe to say most of Barrie was there. And snapping some killer pics.

Ya know what’s awesome? Dancing. Even if you suck at it, your moves can live on as a “best worst dance” attempt. So the Dusk Dances event presented by Simcoe Contemporary Dancers might just bring out the best AND the best-worst!

We know; nobody wants to think about the end of summer. But, like Thanos…it is inevitable. To be fair, the fall does bring back lots of local fun, including the Barrie Colts. And @ryannoble66 is getting the city primed for hockey with a new season of Barrie Colts podcasts.
Speaking of sports, did you know Barrie has a Cricket League? Or that they held their first tournament this weekend?
The #Barrie Cricket Club held the finals of their 1st tournament today. I was glad to stop in and catch some of the action this afternoon and hand out the runner-up and winning medals to the players. The sport is growing in our community. #Innisfil #cdnpoli #onpoli pic.twitter.com/uM5JP7EofG

We don’t usually stray into the realm of news or politics, but this tweet from Barrie Police caught our eyes. In particular on a long weekend when many emergency personnel don’t get much time off because they are working to keep the cities safe and rolling. Congrats Constable Janet Schefter!
#BarriePolice Constable Janet Schefter logs off duty for the last time as her career in policing has come full circle. The words “thank you” don’t hardly seem enough to say on a day like today. Your #BarriePolice family wish you a happy, safe and enjoyable retirement. pic.twitter.com/ODtUvsr0xl
