Here’s what went down in Barrie last week…
You’ve heard of yoga, right? But have you heard of Acro Yoga? This way cool couples based yoga practice happens every week in Barrie, including at the Farmer’s Market. Even if you aren’t brave enough to try it yourself, it’s well worth seeing a performance.
It was a big weekend for local rugby teams, including the Under 15 Girls team and Under 17 Boys, who took part in the Provincial championships on Sunday. They didn’t advance but it was a great showing for both squads.
Sending good luck too our u15 girls and our u17 boys as they compete in provincials today at fletchers ! #BleedSkyBlue #RugbyOntario #BarrieRugby pic.twitter.com/ZDXISnq7Pt

And speaking of congratulations, join us in kudos to the @mightygreendragons, who competed in the annual Dragon Boat festival and won gold in their division AND Rookie Team of the year.
Barrie has no shortage of talent; Musicians, filmmakers, story tellers, entrepreneurs, chefs and artists all call this city home. And you can count sketching among the town’s many outlets for creative expression. The Barrie Urban Sketching Club meets every week and capture local scenes in their notebooks, including this site across from the library as depicted by @penelopejmorrow
The Barrie fair came to town last week, and there was lots to do. Including helicopter rides!

…and demolition derbys…
And Ambassador announcements!
And finally, it’s always a treat to see how much visitors to Barrie appreciate the beauty of the lakeshore we have to offer. This tranquil image from @damjanaaupic sums up a summer afternoon in the city by the lake nicely.
