All The Good (And Occasional) Bad of What Went Down in Barrie Last Week
There are three certainties in life…
And if you are tweeting, posting and talking about Barrie on social media, we want to hear from you! Every week we will do a quick recap of the week that was in Barrie based on your pics, posts and videos.
Whether it’s concerts, store openings, foodie reviews, feelgood stories, fun facts about Barrie, even bizarre bird formations over the marina, we want to share it.
The Week that was in Barrie…
The first weekend in May brought a double entendre for geeks in Barrie; May 4th was Star Wars Day, as in May The 4th be With You, and the local YoTaco @barrieyotaco got into the act with this fun pic of everybody’s favourite Sith Lord.
And May 4th also marked Free Comic Book Day. As always, Barrie’s best purveyor of geekery Big B Comics were on top of the day. In addition to the free funny pages, Big B filled several containers for donation to the Food Bank.
From the “you know it was a good night when….” file, did anyone notice the full on piano left outside the Johnson’s Residence? 53 & 3rd Shows did!
Thrift store shoppers got a huge gift this week; Talize opened their doors on a new store on Bayfield. And the first day was packed! As captured by @barriedevin
And finally, the international Dodgeball community (yeah, it’s a thing) were in town this week. Hundreds of hurlers took part in the world’s largest dodgeball festival at the Holly Rec! No wrenches though? Thanks @__.thatgirl.__ for the snap.
