Just recently we wrote about the incredible history and renovations taking place at one of Barrie’s oldest and most storied night spots. Today we’re Uncovering 3 partners, 2 Chefs, The menu and a Dream at The Queens Hometown Pub.
The Venue of Barrie
The Queens is being redesigned as The Venue in Barrie. The venue for music, events and parties.
Once the reno is finished there will be luxurious hotel suites as well as long term rentals.
Head to the Dirty Q for live music or Alex Kantas, the Resident D.J., the Queens Sports Bar for the big screens, or Queens Hometown Pub for everything from Town Trivia with Darren McDonald on Tuesdays to some of the finest food in Barrie.
Uncovering The Queens...Kitchen
The best spot being ‘Uncovered’ at The Queens right now though, has to be the kitchen. With Jesse Barkley and Shane Beauregard, the 2 head chefs creating ‘food for the gods’, there’s something for everyone.
Check Out the Menus
Starting with the mouth watering Shareables Menu you can enjoy everything from the much desired deep fried pickle to a charcuterie board that tantalizes the taste buds. They’re using the finest of flavours in meats, cheeses, vegetables and breads.
Then there’s the ultimate of ‘smoked in house’ brisket and rib choices, simply put…mouthwatering.
The chefs have also fine tuned a children’s menu that is drawing more and more families in while enjoying time on Dunlop Street.
Whether you drop in for a sit down meal or just a breather after work, make sure to check out the cocktail menu.
Supporting Shop Local
The Queens kitchen is diligently supporting ‘Shop Local’ as well. What isn’t made in house (as most dishes are) is purchased from our wonderful local suppliers. Meats are coming from The Butcher Shoppe, cheeses from The Cheese Factory and dry goods from Stewart’s Wholesale.
There will be an enticing new menu created for the fall with both chefs excited about partnering with vendors at our own Farmers Market.
What a Team!
Each chef has their own specialties of course, but work as a tight team. Shane tends to work with the kitchen crew, while Jesse works with the head of the house, keeping up the standards of every meal for every guest.
With all the changes happening make sure to make time with your family or friends to enjoy a scrumptious meal in the heart of Downtown Barrie – The Queens.
