TGIF: A Punch In The Mouth
Let’s be honest…there are worse ways to kickstart the weekend than with a cold beverage.
And yet, it’s easy to fall into a routine of buying the same couple of beers or spirits at your favorite watering hole or the LCBO. Of course, there’s always going to be your standard go-to’s. But mixing it up (get it…mixing???) makes for a fun outing.
With that in mind, we’re taking a shot (bet you thought we would stop with the drinking puns after that first one) at finding you a weekly selection of spirits to liven up your Friday.
This week why don’t your try…
PUNCH IN THE MOUTH – REDLINE

Pours a medium coppery amber with a two finger white head, providing solid retention and lacing. You’ll detect an aroma of pineapple, citrus and piney hops, balanced by a nudge of dankness, orange, grapefruit and tropical fruit.
Flavor is a blend of citrus, piney and dank hops, mixed tropical fruit, and even a touch of lemon rind, giving way to a slightly earthy tone. That initial taste finishes with lingering piney and citrus hop bitterness.
The body feel is medium, generating light creaminess and good carbonation. This is a refreshing IPA with a hop bill that leans towards pine and citrus, but a touch of noble hop character is evident as well. Some muddled tropical fruit emerges with the citrus, but with a light, earthiness. Nothing distinct yields from the strong fruit flavors, but it offers a nice balance between robust malt and hops.
Overall, this is a classic summer beer, ideal for the patio or the cottage.
