Starting today we will be closing our doors and only offering Drive Thru cheese. Which means you can email us with your order (please provide your phone number) and we will have it ready for you at 4pm. We will also bring it to your vehicle outback. If you are not sure what to order, just state that in your email. We will call you to discuss the cheeses you want! Don’t forget we also have delicious chocolate freshly made that can be picked up as well. . *Orders must be placed 24 hours in advance* As time goes on we will hone in our ordering process to make things as easy as possible. During difficult times it’s always nice to have comfort food and for us that is cheese and chocolate (and wine). We are still offering our cheese sale! All of our soft cheese, blue cheese, Burrata and Buffalo Mozzarella is 20% off! Including Brebisrousse featured in the video. Thank you all for your support. We cannot put into words how grateful we are to receive all of the wonderful caring messages. Our doors will be open again for you and we can’t wait for that day! So much love to you.

Hello everyone! A big thank you for all of the support we have been receiving over these last couple of days. St Patrick’s day has passed us but that doesn’t mean we won’t have a party at another date; stay tuned in the coming weeks. P.s it will be less than 364 days now! Until then we are still open for take-out and Uber Eats from 11am-8pm. 💚🍀💚🍀💚🍀💚🍀💚🍀💚🍀💚🍀💚🍀💚 Don’t forget …when you order your nachos get them uncooked and cook them once you get home so that they are hot, fresh and crispy. Yes, that is a thing. When ordering off Uber eats simply modify your order and we will be sure to make this happen. Thank you again for everyone’s support and feedback on our take-out and delivery. Stay safe and healthy Simcoe County we will be back in the swing of things before we know it. #ilovemypub #support #supportlocal #takeout #ubereats #comfortfood #pubfood #publife

Bohemia is closed till further notice. It’s a global pandemic, baby, so closing for a while is the least we can do to stop this thing. We’ll share hugs and stories, tears and laughter when the skies are blue again. In the meantime, during this state of emergency, we’re gonna practise social distancing, embrace self care, (online @blissanngreenyoga) eat lots of comfort food (i.e. cheese from @jadorefinecheese and bread from @homesteadbread), make our homes cozy (with @ourhousebarrie online, @everleigh.garden.dunlop and @inhabit_interiors) read books (from @bbcbookstore), wear glamorous but comfortable lounge wear (from @janetkempladiesfashion and @zuzufashionboutiquebarrie), order takeout (from @grilledcheesesocialeatery, @lazytulipcafe, @valiantseatery, @swirleezbarrie, and more) and probably drink too much wine (until the LCBO closes…. then we’ll do a juice cleanse @ripejuicery) And then the second after we get the all clear, we’ll come roaring back! So: au revoir, not good bye, and Keep on SANCTIFYING THE ORDINARY every day! (p.s. teasing about the LCBO. The government would never take away our wine)

Music Fests, Rib Fests and Geek Fests: 5 Fun Things To Do in Barrie This Weekend

Barrie Music Festvals and Events

Although we pretty well wrote off summer after Labour day, TECHNICALLY it ends on Monday. Which means this weekend is the last official one of the warmest season.

And fortunately, there is a boat load of outdoorsy and indoorsy stuff to ensure summer 201 goes out with a bang, and not a whimper.

Happening in Barrie This Weekend…

CONCERTS AND COMEDY

Troubadour festival arrives at noon on Friday, and if you still haven’t heard about Troubadour then OMFG go listen to our podcast interview with the founder Chas Hay. This is two straight days of live music at awesome venues across Barrie featuring the likes of Cowboy Junkies, Bedouin Soundclash and Matt Andersen. And loads of local artists as well.

There’s also the Rising Star finals at Ferndale Banquet Hall. Local performers will sing their guts out  for prize money and trips.

If you’re in need of a laugh to wind up the week, Laffy Taffy hits up Fionn MacCool’s on Sunday night. Ian Fergus hosts with headliner Rahil Shaik.

COMIC CON AT THE BPL

For those about to geek out…we salute you.

Nerdism takes over the downtown branch of the library on Saturday, with vendors, cosplayers, VR and tons of other genre infused fun. Totally free and ideal for the kids.

Just be sure not to mention anything about Greedo shooting first.

SUPERHERO STOMP

Speaking of costumed heroes, on Saturday Candelighter’s Simcoe hosts their annual Superhero Stomp to walk, run, skate and scooter to raise awareness of Childhood Cancer. It happens at Heritage park at 3.

ROOFTOP YOGA

Celebrate International Day of Peace by treating yourself to a moment of connection, stillness and peace.

Meet on the rooftop at Hooligans and immerse yourself in the experience of meditation and yoga, followed by a light breakfast. Hosted by Lulu Lemon

RIBFEST – ALLISTON

If you are less yoga and more…barbecue inclined, there’s a fiery feast just down the road from Barrie this weekend.

The Ontario Ribfest Tour returns to Alliston, ON Sept 20-22, 2019 held at Riverdale Park. Featuring 4 of North America’s Best Rib Teams travelling from Florida, Alabama, BC and Ontario. These “Pitmasters” are ready to serve you and your friends Award-Winning Mouth-Watering BBQ Smoked Ribs.

Comedy, Patio Parties and Escape Rooms: 3 Things To Do in And Around Barrie This Weekend

Barrie waterfront sunsets

CHECK HERE FOR A COMPLETE LIST OF EVENTS IN BARRIE

If you were to give a star rating to the days of the week, Thursday would probably get a 3.5

It’s close enough to Saturday that you can get jacked about the weekend, but loses a few points because it’s too far away to just coast through.

In our efforts to raise that ranking to 4 stars, we give to you the weekly weekender!

Happening in Barrie This Weekend…

COMEDY @ FIONN MAcCOOL’S

Laffy Taffy is back, and in a big way. On top of their new Wednesday slot at The Ranch, you can guffaw it up at Fionn MacCool’s on Sunday nights.

This week headliner Garrett Jamieson is behind the mic, with Daniel Shaw hosting a great lineup of comics from Barrie and beyond. And there will be drinks and bite from the happy hour menu…just in case you need some liquor to recover.

Showtime is 8:30

NANDO’S PATIO PARTY

Barbecued Chicken. Patio. Saturday.

Are there a trio of words in the English language that go better together? (We don’t think so either) And this weekend Nando’s is presenting all three in a trifecta of merriment at their Peri party. Activities include Nandinos Craft Table, Food Samples, PERi-PERi Makingg, Beverage Samples and Giveaways.

Find out more here.

ESCAPE ROOM

If you’ve never tried an escape room before, Friday marks a chance to make your first attempt. Or die trying!

Okay, it’s not THAT serious. But they are loads of fun and definitely worthy of the hype. Penetang Centennial museum hosts a challenge this Friday. Registration in advance is required, and you can take part in a team or by yourself.

SPOTLIGHT ON BARRIE RESTAURANTS & CHEFS: JASON & JOSIE, GRILLICIOUS GOURMET TAP & GRILL

BARRIE CHEF SPOTLIGHT: GRILLICIOUS
It’s patio season baby and we just uncovered Barrie’s hottest new patio!
Grillicious, located right on the gorgeous waterfront, is owned by husband and wife team Jason and Josie. Not only does this spot have an absolutely awesome patio and view, but they have the same awesome view from inside! That’s right, from inside the restaurant you can look out at the beautiful blue horizon, and bonus, eat delicious food!
How did they get started?
Jason and Josie’s business originally started as a food truck in Gravenhurst and they were able to grow with their distinct and mouth watering cuisine. You’ll have to check out the video to see some great shots of the waterfront, and of course this terrific food!
Side note:
You’ll also enjoy Steve and Danielle destroying and devouring these meals and being pretty much speechless because of how good they were. Trust us when we tell you… Steve and Danielle are never speechless so that says a lot!

You can find out more about Grillicious right here!
