Even though travel restrictions haven’t yet been lifted, now is the time to start planning your dream vacation.
Planning Your Dream Trip
One dream trip to consider is travelling to India. Now many suggest that summertime is simply too hot or rainy a season for travelling there, however, after much research we’ve found that if you plan carefully there is much to enjoy. Choosing the cooler regions there is still so much to see that your trip will be filled with wonder and excitement.
To start you should avoid travelling in the plains during the summer months. The best places to visit at this time are the “hill stations”. The entire Himalayan Belt has numerous destinations that can offer a cooler environment.
As the calendar heads towards July, the monsoons head towards the southern parts of India. Even more reason to visit the northern regions and experience some amazing sites.
A List of Indian Summer Destinations:
Dharamshala: The home of the Dalai Lama calls to many making a spiritual journey. This is a beautiful region of temples and monasteries. If this is chosen there are trips to be taken to the Dalai Lama Temple Complex, tea plantations, the HPCA Stadium, waterfalls and lake excursions by boat as well.
Lonavala: If it’s trekking that you desire Lonavala has some of the most stunning trekking views. There are choices of cave tours, waterfall rappelling, Tigers Leap, camping or even farm stays.
Shillong: Travelling to India for a rest seems unlikely. You may change your mind if you happen to visit Shillong. With its crystal clear lakes and beautiful mountains it’s a magical and heavenly place for mountain lovers and peace seekers alike. There are many, many walking trails where you can unwind and revive your tired body and mind.
Gulmarg: If you really want to beat the heat and have the experience of a life time, why not visit the snowcapped mountains of Gulmarg. This is the destination for skiing, taking a gondola ride, enjoying the views or even a round of golf. Wow!
Darjeeling: If trekking, rock climbing, Himalayan Railway rides or boating are on your bucket list…this is a great destination. The views are as spectacular as any adventure enthusiast would hope for.
Head to Tandoori Kingdom on Blake Street
While plans are being discussed and dreams fulfilled, the reality is we still can’t travel at the moment. If your desire is to taste a little bit of India, we suggest that you head over to Tandoori Kingdom on Blake Street.
With some of the finest Indian cuisine in Barrie and a lovely quiet patio, with a liquor license, it’s a wonderful spot to sit and plan…..your next trip!
