Irie Jerk was created in a very unusual manner. Three men, now known as the “3 Fathers of Irie Jerk” started out by bringing their home cooked meals as lunch while on Shift at Honda. It didn’t take long for other employees to notice the wonderful aromas of the meals and ask if they could have some. The delicious meals soon became a standard lunch time fare for over 80+ employees!
Realizing that authentic Jamaican cuisine was so well received in the area, the decision to open a restaurant was easy. On February 22nd, Irie Jerk celebrates its 1st year anniversary! What a year they’ve had! A new restaurant opening just before the world shut down due to COVID! We really must celebrate with them!
Everything on the menu at Irie Jerk is made in-house. Their recipes are so protected that the “3 Fathers” are the only ones to prepare and season the meat!
Known as “The Best Jerk North of the Island”, their menu takes jerk seasoning to a whole new level!
When we’re allowed to travel, Jamaica is a stop I often make. I love the everyday dishes on the island – and that’s what I find on the Irie Jerk menu. Everything from Jerk Chicken to Curried Goat…even Oxtail!
Between Curried and Jerk meats there’s much to choose from. On Fridays and Saturdays there’s even Jerk Salmon! Truly, I can’t wait to try that dish!
Because of their one year anniversary this month, there are some extra nice specials to be had.
