The days after a long weekend are a bit like waking up after a weird dream. You aren’t quite sure what day it is, and wonder if what you remembered from the nights before actually happened.
The key to overcoming that post-long weekend fog is to get out and form some new memories. Fortunately, the Barrie region is replete with possibilities to help you do so.
CONCERTS AND BOOTS & HEARTS
So…there’s this thing called Boots & Hearts…
But if you aren’t attending the annual cowboy tuned extravaganza, there are still plenty of in-town live music options. The Foxx is throwing an 80s themed costume party, Jerry Leger plays the Common Good and the Speakcheesy hosts a Blues/Jazz night. Find them all in our weekly gigs list!
COLDWATER STEAMPUNK FESTIVAL
This is an ideal outing for any family members who are geek inclined. Steampunk is a re-imagining of the world if Victorian era, steam driven technology had advanced instead of electronics.
Coldwater’s annual festival explores this through creative exhibits, cosplay, living history tours and loads more. It runs Friday and Saturday in the town’s main street.
AXE THROWING OPEN HOUSE
Got some aggression to work off? Throwing an axe might help. Head to Iron Nation in the south end and they will hook you up! They’re hosting a free night of axe tossing to celebrate their fourth anniversary. It’s an 18+ event and everyone needs to wear closed toe shoes.
