“Marvellous” Mark Smither defeats Paul Ispas for Canadian title

Strap season has officially arrived!

Local professional boxer Mark Smither defeats Paul Ispas by unanimous decision to win the Canadian Super Lightweight title. Smither improves to 7-0 and remains undefeated in his pro career. The victory is an incredible milestone for Smither, who wins his first professional boxing championship.

Smither reigned supreme in the co-main event of United Boxing Promotion’s Singh vs. Balmir card at the CAA Centre in Brampton, Ontario. Additionally, Smither becomes the first fighter out of Barrie to win a pro boxing title.

Congratulations to Mark Smither and the “Marvellous” team! You’ve made Barrie proud.
