Barrie Jr. Sharks playoff run comes to an end

Barrie’s Jr. Sharks put forth a valiant effort at the OWHA Championship Weekend in Mississauga.

The U22 Elite program made its playoff debut on Friday afternoon. The Jr. Sharks split their round-robin games 1-1 on Friday. Afterward, the Sharks thwarted Ottawa Lady Senators’ playoff hopes with a 1-0 victory.

The Jr Sharks take down the Ottawa Sens 1-0 to advance to the OWHA Championship Weekend 1/4 Finals on a goal by Ireland McKloskey and superb goaltending by Rory Edwards. Next up is a 6:45p battle with the Central West Division Champions @JrDolphins #eliteamateurhockey #Justplay pic.twitter.com/thBQNoD3IM

Barrie earned its first quarterfinal berth on Saturday against the Etobicoke Jr. Dolphins. Ultimately, the Dolphins defeated the Jr. Sharks 3-1 and effectively ended the team’s playoff run.

Next up, the Jr. Sharks participate in the OWHA Provincials on April 7-10.

The quest for the OWHA Championship has come to an end for the Jr Sharks after falling 3-1 to the @JrDolphins in the 1/4 final game. Barrie Colts clinch a playoff berth

The Colts defeated the Ottawa 67’s last night by a final score of 2-1. As a result, Colts Country punched its ticket into the 2021-22 OHL playoffs. In addition, Ethan Cardwell scored the game-winner, his 19th of the season, on the power play.
