Barrie Colts grab two points in weekend contests

The Colts kept busy this past weekend, splitting games between the Mississauga Steelheads and the North Bay Battalion. First, the visiting Steelheads tangled with our hometown Colts, narrowly escaping with a 3-1 victory. Ethan Cardwell potted the lone Colts goal, his seventh of the season. Moreover, goaltender Mack Guzda stayed busy between the pipes, making 34 saves in a valiant effort.

Additionally, forward Anthony Tabak participated in his 200th career OHL game.

The Barrie Colts would like to congratulate @tabak_6 on playing in his 200th career @OHLHockey game this afternoon.

Next, the Colts traveled to North Bay Memorial Gardens for a Sunday afternoon winter battle with the Battalion. The Colts were #BackInTheSaddle with haste, continuing their winning ways against the Battalion (4-1 this season) with a statement victory. Furthermore, the Colts cruised to an 8-2 win thanks to four-point performances from Tabak and captain Brandt Clarke.

Tabak scored twice on the power play and earned two assists. In addition, Clarke scored late in the third, chipping in three apples along the way. Newcomer Declan McDonnell and Ethan Cardwell picked up three points each, while Guzda made 23 saves to return to the win column in goal.

Brandt Clarke and Anthony Tabak each had four points in their 8-2 victory this afternoon, as the @OHLBarrieColts now move to 8-1-1 in their last 10 games and continue to surge in the Eastern Conference. #GameON
