Simcoe Rovers FC return home for Week 3
This weekend kicks off a double-header of Rovers FC action. Additionally, the Rovers return home to J.C. Massie Field. League1 Ontario’s newest clubs play host during Week 3 competition.
Firstly, the women take the pitch at 4 pm against Burlington FC. The undefeated Rovers have cruised past the competition in the opening games, going 2-0 with a 5-0 goals differential. A balanced attack coupled with superb goaltending has, to date, produced the desired results in the Rovers’ inaugural season.
Afterward, the men take the pitch at 7 pm to host Alliance United FC. Last week, the Rovers picked up the first win in club history, 3-2 over Master’s FA. On the season, the team sits 1-0-1.
Further, Leaford Allen leads the club’s offence with goals in both games this season.
Barrie Bombers Jr. C lacrosse action
Bombs away, lacrosse fans!
The Barrie Bombers Jr. C club takes on the Fergus Thistles tonight at Peggy Hill Team Community Centre at 8 pm. Moreover, the Bombers sit 1-2 on the season. The club opened the 2022 campaign with a 10-9 victory but lost its last two contests.
Afterward, the Bombers travel to Wilmot Recreation Complex for a Sunday afternoon match against the Wilmot Wild. Further, the Bombers and Wild split their preseason games 1-1. This is the first regular-season matchup between the clubs.

High Vibe 45 Pilates & Yoga
High Vibe 45 is offering a yoga & Pilates fusion class for women. Additionally, participants gain strength and cardio from Pilates coupled with the flexibility and balance of yoga. High Vibe 45 is designed to improve posture while enhancing mobility and range of movement.
The event takes place on Saturday at 9 am at Nelson Square Park. Furthermore, admission is $13.75 per person.

Slo-pitch for Awareness tournament
The Slo-Pitch for Awareness organization hosts a co-ed tournament this weekend. Moreover, the event kicks off on Saturday, May 7. The goal is to raise awareness and educate people on Autism. All proceeds generated from this event go directly to families affected by Autism.
While the registration deadline has passed, interested parties may still spectate the event at Tree Nursery Park in Springwater.
