Bradford Blue & Gold Classic tourney is underway
Weekend Hockey Tournaments Inc presents the Bradford Blue & Gold Classic youth hockey tournament this weekend.
Teams are guaranteed a minimum of three games. Further, first-place teams receive a team trophy coupled with a photo on Weekend Hockey’s official website. Correspondingly, regional clubs from Under-9 to Under-15 youth programs are in attendance.
Additionally, games will play at arenas in Bradford, Alliston, Innisfil, Sharon, and Lefroy, Ontario.

Simcoe County Rovers announce home opener
Barrie’s newest soccer club announces its home opener date on April 24.
The club’s inaugural season kicks off at J.C Massie Field, giving Simcoe County its first taste of Rovers action! The latest addition to League1 Ontario sees the women’s game begin at 2 pm while the men’s game is at 5 pm.

Barrie Colts weekend schedule
The Colts host the Oshawa Generals on Saturday evening. Comparatively, the teams have split their season series at two games apiece.
Furthermore, the Colts are coming off a 5-3 Thursday night victory over the Niagara IceDogs.
Afterward, Colts Country travels to North Bay Memorial Gardens for a Sunday afternoon contest against North Bay Battalion.

Georgian Grizzlies receive year-end awards
Men’s volleyball players CJ Okeke and Cameron Calhoun earned OCAA first-team All-Star honours. Similarly, Sam Thorup earned second-team All-Star honours. Equally important, Cameron Chadwick was named to the OCAA East All-Rookie team.
Further, men’s basketball standout Jaylen Moore-Tucker earned All-Star honours. Moore-Tucker averaged 13.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in just 17 minutes per game.
Finally, men’s basketball coach Chad Bewley and volleyball coach Reid Saxby earned OCAA East division Coach of the Year awards.
